| Dillon Running Line Tensiometer (RLT) |
The
Dillon Running Line Tensiometer is popular with utility
companies in the stringing of underground cable. It
continually monitors cable tension, allowing even
sensitive fiber optic cable to be drawn for miles
through underground conduit without being damaged
or broken.

Features |
|
Provide customers with installation records
-- A tensiometer system with a Dillon force indicator
and printer provides documentation of installation
process. You can demonstrate that your installation
has met the standards agreed to by installer, cable
supplier and customer.
Control installations -- A Tensiometer system
lets you continuously monitor cable installations.
Get instant readings of applied force, current peak,
total distance traveled, rate of travel.
Automatic protection -- Linked to a Dillon
Force Indicator with cutoff capability, the tensiometer
assures that the tension exerted on the cable will
never exceed manufacturer's specifications. As tension
approaches the pre-set limit, the pulling mechanism
shuts down.
Full range of capacities -- Dillon offers
eleven standard capacities from 20 pounds to 40,000
pounds. Higher capacities are available on request.

Capacities and Specifications |
|
A wide variety of sheave or pulley sizes
(width and diameter) are available on the RLT. Correct
pulley size is determined by the size and makeup
of the rope to be monitored by the tensiometer.
Each tensiometer is calibrated to a specific line
size matched to the correct pulley size. RLTs through
1,000 lb capacity are equipped with steel pulleys.
Capacities of 4,000 lb and over are supplied with
Nylatron pulleys as standard. Steel pulleys can
be supplied on a special basis.
